A safe and relational space for you to put down what you've been carrying alone
Hello, I'm Laura. I am an experienced and highly trained Therapist working in Nottinghamshire offering support to individuals who may be struggling with their emotional wellbeing and mental health, would like to make some changes or heal from past experiences. My role as a relational therapist is to offer a safe space for you to explore what you are holding internally and support you in moving towards the change you would like to see.
Alongside my formal training, I bring experience from a range of settings including private practice, fostering services, education, and the voluntary sector. This work has given me an in-depth understanding of the impact of relational trauma, attachment disruption, and loss, and how these experiences are often held not only in the mind, but also in the body.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Postgraduate Diploma in Systemic Practice, a Certificate in Body Psychotherapy, and am currently working towards a Diploma in Clinical Supervision.

I work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, coming to me with a diverse range of problems.
As a fully-qualified counsellor I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and abide by their code of ethics.
I work in a relational, humanistic, and integrative way, placing the therapeutic relationship at the centre of our work together. I believe meaningful change happens when you feel understood, emotionally safe, and met at your own pace.
Together, we can explore what is happening for you in the present, how past experiences may still be shaping your inner world and relationships, and what you would like to move towards. I work collaboratively and with care, supporting you to make sense of your experiences in a way that feels manageable and grounded.
Alongside talking therapy, I hold an awareness of how stress and emotional experiences can be carried in the body. This allows us to work gently and holistically, particularly when words alone don’t feel enough. I offer a calm, reflective space and value depth, thoughtfulness, and collaboration, trusting that you are the expert in your own experience.
People come to me for help with a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through therapy:
Feelings of stress or anxiety
Panic attacks
Relationship problems
Grief, loss or bereavement
Problems with addiction
Trauma and post-traumatic stress
Depression
Problems with confidence or self-esteem
Anger management
Issues relating to sexuality
Difficulties at work or in retirement
Chronic health conditions
I currently offer limited in-person sessions from The Lotus Centre in Mansfield, within easy reach of Kirkby in Ashfield, Sutton in Ashfield and Nottingham.
I also offer online sessions to people throughout the UK.
Sessions are usually held on a weekly basis and last 50 minutes to one hour, although this can be discussed depending on your needs and circumstances.
I work with limited availability in order to offer a thoughtful, contained space that supports depth, continuity, and safety.
